Five-Course Wine Pairing Dinner Featuring Penfolds Wine
Mangupura, - On Monday, May 30, 2016, The Trans Resort Bali hosted a memorable five-course wine pairing dinner featuring the South Australian wines of Penfolds Winery.
50 privileged guest enjoyed welcoming cocktails and Yellowglen Sparkling Wine on the Resort’s The 18th Rooftop Bar before adjourning to The Waterfall Garden for a stunning succession of culinary courses and premier wines. 
During pre-dinner drinks, guests were treated to a surprise performance by Melbourne-based jazz vocalist-songwriter, Chelsea Wilson performing her latest hit single.
As guests arrived at the waterfall, they paused for pictures before sitting down to long tables set out in the Penfolds colors of black and red that were lit by delicate ferry light stretched across the face of the 18-meter waterfall. Personalized hand-written notes from the Resort’s general manager, Alexander Jovanovic, awaited at each of the designated seats for the VIP group of diners.
Alexander Jovanovic opened the evening by welcoming the guests and introducing the evening themes of “Taste, Sip, Share and Celebrate.” He then introduced Penfolds Wine Ambassador for Asia - Patrick Dowling who had assisted the Resorts chef in the expert wine pairings for the special evening.
The five courses with began with muse bouche, followed by an entréeof Tuna Tataki that was paired with a very elegant Chardonnay –Penfolds Koonunga. The third course was a prawn and oyster soup served with the Penfolds Koonunga Hills Autumn Riesling that introduced a beautifully presented Quail Dish paired with a blendedPenfolds Bin 8 Cabaret Shiraz. The main course - Pan roasted veal was paired with the renowned Penfolds Bin 9 Cabernet Sauvignon. The grand finale of the evening was a fresh Yuzu & Coconut dessert.
“I really enjoy the atmosphere and it’s great when you can have people who have never met to share a meal and talk about food and wine. It’s also fun to have a few of our loyal and regular guests come together. It has been a wonderful evening of incredible cuisine paired with outstanding wines by our Chefs,” said Alexander Jovanovic. “I enjoyed this limited and more intimate setting allowing everyone to get to know each other and appreciate the evening in sheer style together,” he added.
Penfolds’ Patrick Dowling said: “I have very much enjoyed this evening and The Trans Resort Bali has executed the dinner incredibly well. The food and wine were paired excellently. We are keen to create an annual event at The Trans Resort Bali.”
